Friday July 3 there was a knock at our front door. I went to get it and there was Sharlie our Grand daughter in her car seat at the door all alone. SUPRISE!!! Randee,Beegh and Sharlie had come to visit us. It was great! Danny had just had surgery so he could not do a lot but we had fun anyway just seeing Randee, Sharlie and Beegh was good enough. Our time in Minnesota. We went to the ZOO, Mall of America, the under the mall aquarium, I attended my first Base ball game it was really fun and of corse lots of eating . We tried many new and fun restaurant's. It was very cold there we had left Arizona in the 90s in Minnesota it was 50-60 and very windy. We had a great time . Danny's surgery is over and he is out. He came through with flying colors, of course. Only because he went to the best Hospital in the state, he also had the best orthopedic surgeon doing the surgery. That makes all the difference. He had a great experience. Thank you Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center, the staff there were awesome.

Well, the date is set. March 24 Danny gets his left hip replaced. He went and saw the surgeon yesterday, after looking at the X-Ray the surgeon said, yes you need both hips replaced we will start with the Left . The Surgeon got him scheduled for the 24th of March. I can't believe he got in so fast.

For several months now Danny has been complaining that his leg and hip have been killing him. It hurts to walk and it feels great to lay down at night with his legs up. He has been to the doctor multiple times and received injections of steroids His trips to the Doctor to get treatments of steroids were becoming closer and closer almost every month. All along I have told him to have the Doctor X-Ray the hip but he never asked and the Doctor never suggested this be done. Monday Danny called in from work he said the pain is unbearable He called the Doctor and said he wanted to have an X-Ray of his hips. So the Doctor agreed. Today he saw the Doctor at 0520 AM!!! and Guess what! yep he needs both hips replaced. He has Arthritis (Severe Arthritis) in both hips. And I'm not even an Orthopedic Nurse!( I did work orthopedics my first year as a nurse.)

Bee or not to Bee

For a couple of months now we thought we had Bees making a hive in an eve near our front west bedroom. Danny swore he saw bees outside the window, we also saw what looked like the makings of a hive or so we thought. It had been a few months and we really had not seen any further bees flying around the window, even though it appeared the hive was still lingering. My thoughts were the hive is being built inside our home and the what ifs kept going through my head. what if it is huge, what if a bee stings one of our grand kids, what if it cost us a small fortune to remove the hive. Well we lined up a bee exterminator to come out to the house. The night prior to all of our questions being answered, we investigated the scene. Danny squirted the mass, nothing happened he discovered it wasn't a hive but a nest. We took a broom and tried to get the nest dislodged. My attempts only confirmed yes it was a nest when with one attempt a birds head and only a head came tumbling out of the nest. The next time I attempted to remove the nest this is what fell out on to our driveway. Bees gone!!! Oh yea no bees I mean Nest gone bird and all!!! I have no idea how long that bird had been up in the eves dead like that.

Pavers were started today. The workers told me they were only going to do a small area and them finish on Monday. Well I ran off and when I came home they had placed almost all the pavers. Now there is just a small area to complete on Monday. There is also edging they have to do. They will really stand out when the deck has the acrylic lace it is a darker brown.

Milestone occurred today I finally got to take a shower!!! I feel soooo clean! This is the foot after the shower. I did not realize how swollen it still was. I get to start wearing a shoe, and will start increasing the time I wear it everyday. I see the Doctor in 3 weeks. Still no working, or driving.

Today two workers come out, first they painted the whole slide,rocks and decorative rocks black. I think it was to define the rocks and lines, then they painted the slide and all the rocks brown. Looks great. Water will flow out of the top area and make a waterfall,and people can slide down the slide.

Rebar done. I'm not sure what is next I guess we will have to be surprised I talked to the super of our construction and he said it will take 5 weeks to finish the pool and the only reason it will take that long is we have a rock slide and that will add an additional 5 days to the build. I always thought it took much longer to build a pool. This is the 3rd pool we have built and you would think I would have remembered. I just remember that is seemed like it took a couple, or even a few months. I guess I was wrong.

Today the bandages came off my foot and this is what it looks like. No bump!!! The Doctor cleaned it re dressed it and I graduated to a walking boot Heel touch for now then progressing as I feel that I can handle it, to a walk. I thought the boot would be low but it goes to my knee as you can see. Still no driving I see him again on the 17th of June.

Here is my foot 6 days after surgery. Tomorrow I go to the Doctor and get fitted for a boot. Hopefully I be able to get around better ( without crutches) they hurt my elbow and shoulders. My toes went black and blue. Thats because he broke my toe. Today my foot has hurt the most since surgery, I think it is the healing process.

Today is Mothers day, for it I received a plaque from Jessica and Brian, an Aqua Cell pool float and a beach towel from Randee and Beegh, I also received a beach towel from Wyatt and Jenny ( do you think they are all thinking about the pool we are building?)
Danny gave me a dozen roses and a gift card to Olive Garden.
My last gift I got was to talk to my youngest son Kyle on is mission in Mexico. He is doing great!! This will be the last time I talk to him before he comes home. 15.5 weeks to go. Thank you all for being great kids I love all the gifts you gave me. But most of all I love the great examples you are for me, and the wonderful people you have grown up to be. I LOVE ALL OF YOU! New kid on the Blog

This is the story of how the new kid arrived
Tuesday May 6th Jessica went to the hospital in labor only dilated to (0) with nothing happening, she was sent home.
Wednesday May 7th Jessica went to her Doctor dilated to (2) she was again sent back home.
Thursday May 8th to the hospital again. Dilated to (3 and some) sent home again. Took a sleeping pill the doctor gave her. The nurse told her if she woke up with labor pains she would definitely be in labor. She slept all night (didn't even get up to pee) and awoke feeling great.
Friday May 9th labor continues on and off. Jessica took a nap and felt pretty good 6:36 pm I get a call," my water broke and I am going to the hospital." She had called Brian No turning back now.
7:45 PM they arrive at the hospital and she had Graham at 8:01PM The staff at the hospital never even got an IV in her, Jessica hates the iv's She said they hurt more than labor. She is CRAZY!!!!From arrival to the Hospital until delivery of Graham, was 16 min.

I love my three Grand kids, by the end of the year there will b 6. Crew has moved to St Louis with his mom and dad. Summer is here and it is time to Sell security systems for Wyatt. He works for 3-4 months and makes enough money to live on all winter Good luck this year. Today Weston and Bristol came to my house to play in Nana's playroom I have made for the grand kids. I purchased a Pottery Barn three piece kitchen in red. As a child always wanted a play kitchen ( my mother never listened to my plea for one) so I bought one for myself. I also have a child size table and chairs. There is a big screen TV on the wall ( for baby Einstein) and 2 over stuffed chairs to sit in and enjoy a movie or cartoons. I think I made the room for myself. Bristol and Weston had a ball in the room playing with the pots,pans,play food and just hanging out up there. I am thoroughly exhausted now. What a great day! Jessica informed me that 3 miles down the road both of the kids were asleep.

Today March 1,2008 was Randees Baby shower. We decorated the house, ordered food, invited a bunch of people, played games and over all had a great time.

We played several games that Natalie put together for the shower. Thanks Natalie .We had lots of mexican food (yummmie!!)

On the 23 he will have been on his mission for 18 months I can't believe he will only have 6 months left. In some ways it has gone quickly and in other ways it has gone really slow. We Love you Kyle! Today I was called into work and while I was there I received a picture message from Wyatt and Jenny. It was a picture of Crew with a shirt on that said "Big Brother" and a note that said suprise ! I am so excited for them. This means we will have 3 new grandchildren this year. Total of 6 !. That is crazy I feel we are aging quickly
